Quaker State 400 Free Picks
SPARTA, KY (ATS CONSULTANTS) – The NASCAR Sprint Cup series competes under the lights tonight for the Quaker State 400. Here is a look at some drivers to consider for the race.
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Brad Keselowski, Kevin Harvick and Jimmie Johnson are all favored to win, as each has been given 5/1 odds.
Here are the drivers we like:
Keselowski has had his share of success already at Kentucky, winning one of the few races held here. His average finish at the track is 13.7, while his driver rating is 104.8, which ranks fourth amongst current drivers. Keselowski is also on the pole, while teammate Joey Logano qualified second, so this team has something figured out at Kentucky. If Keselowski avoids trouble, he should certainly be a threat to win.
Gordon has had a great 2014 season. He is the points leader by 20 points on the field and already has one win to his credit. For this race, Gordon has a great starting position of third. He has yet to win at Kentucky Speedway, but has a 7.7 average finish at the track, and his driver rating is 91.8. Gordon has been consistently up front in most races, now he just needs the right strategy and pit team to finish in first.
Newman has quietly had a strong start to his season. He is currently eighth in the point standings, but in desperate need of a win to solidify his chances at making the Chase. Newman will start seventh tonight. He has finished outside the top 10 the last two years in this race, but finished fourth in 2011. Newman has the speed on this fast tracks to contend for a win, but will need a little luck along the way.
