Johnson gets road win

Jimmie Johnson picked up an unlikely win in the 2010 Toyota/Save Mart 350 from Infineon Raceway on Sunday evening.

Johnson was the beneficiary of a late mistake by race leader Marcos Ambrose which allowed Johnson to get to the front and win his first road course race in his Sprint Cup career.

Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com gave Johnson 15/1 odds to win Sunday’s race, meaning a bet of $100 on Johnson will pay out $1,500.

Sunday’s win ended a 10-week winless streak and vaulted Johnson up to third in the standings, 141 points behind leader, Kevin Harvick, who finished third in the race.

Road course specialist Robby Gordon finished second on Sunday for his best showing of the year while pole sitter Kasey Kahne was fourth and Jeff Gordon took fifth.
