Toyota Save Mart 350

For the first time in almost a month oddsmakers have made a driver other than Kyle Busch the favorite to win this weekends NASCAR Sprint Cup series race.

Busch’s former teammate Jeff Gordon and current teammate Tony Stewart are co-favorites for this weekend’s Toyota / Save Mart 350 from Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California.

Prior to Friday’s Sprint Cup Qualifying session Gordon and Stewart are both listed at 4.5/1 odds to win according to Bodog oddsmakers. Both Gordon and Stewart are widely considered by most handicapping experts to be the best road course drivers in NASCAR and both have multiple race wins at Sonoma (Gordon 5, Stewart 2).

Rounding out the top 5 odds to win favorites are last years Toyota/Save Mart 350 winner Juan Pablo Montoya at 6/1, Kevin Harvick at 9/1 and 2003 Sonoma winner Robby Gordon at 10/1.

Two other drivers to look at this weekend are Ryan Newman at 28/1 and Clint Bowyer at 40/1. Although neither of these drivers have ever won at Sonoma both have average finishes of 10th or better (Newman 9.8, Bowyer 10.0).

Only two road course “ringers” crack the top 10 odds to win this week. Ron Fellows and Boris Said are both currently listed at 18/1 odds to win according to oddsmakers at SBG Global.

The 2008 NASCAR Sprint Cup Toyota / Save-Mart 350 will be held on Sunday June 22, 2008 at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California. Pre-race coverage begins at 3:30pm eastern on TNT and TNT HD.

The green flag will drop at approximately 4:15pm eastern, TV coverage will be provided by TNT and TNT HD. Radio coverage for the 2008 Toyota/Save-Mart 350 will be provided by the Motor Racing Network (MRN).
