Harvick wins Coca-Cola 600

CONCORD, NC (TheSpread) – It took nearly six hours, but Kevin Harvick eventually emerged as the winner of Sunday’s Coca-Cola 600 from Charlotte Motor Speedway.

In NASCAR’s longest race of the year, there were plenty of cautions and even a few red flags, but Harvick emerged as the leader late and pulled away over the final 10 laps to get the victory.

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Harvick had 15/1 odds to win this race, which means a wager of $100 on him to win will pay an additional $1,500.

Kasey Kahne had arguably the best car in the race, as he led 156 laps on the night, but track positioning was key late and Kahne couldn’t quite make his way to the front, finishing in second place. Kurt Busch had a strong night as well, placing third despite having some power issues mid-race.

The wing for Harvick pushes him to seventh in the point standings, 83 points behind Jimmie Johnson for the lead. Johnson finished 22nd on Sunday night.
