TALLADEGA, AL (TheSpread) – It was another eventful race at Talladega Superspeedway on Sunday, with David Ragan ultimately winning the Aaron’s 499.

Ragan wasn’t on the radar to win, but a green-white-checkered finish opened the door for a 3-lap free-for-all to the end. Ragan made a push on the final few laps, getting ahead of Carl Edwards and Matt Kenseth to get the victory.

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Ragan had 100/1 odds to win this race, which means a $100 wager on him to win will pay out an additional $10,000.

David Gilliland had a rare runner-up finish on Sunday as well as he helped push Ragan to the front. Edwards finished third while Kenseth dropped to seventh after leading with three laps to go.

Jimmie Johnson held onto the points lead thanks to a fifth-place finish. He is now 41 points ahead of Edwards for first place.
