Harvick wins pole at Phoenix
AVONDALE, AZ (TheSpread) – Qualifying for the CampingWorld.com 500 took place on Friday and Kevin Harvick will start up front for Sunday’s race.
According to the latest oddsmakers, Harvick is now the clear favorite to win this race, as he has 8/5 odds after winning the pole. Other short odds to win are Jimmie Johnson (8/1) and Joey Logano (9/1). The CampingWorld.com 500 will take place from Phoenix International Raceway on Sunday at 3:44PM ET.
Harvick is leading the point standings by 9 on the field. He has one win this year and has been in the top 5 in all three races. Harvick is a six-time winner at Phoenix with an average finish of 11.4 and a driver rating of 106.2, which is second-best of any driver.
Johnson is seventh in the points, 43 behind Harvick. He has one win and two top 5s for the season. Johnson has won four times at Phoenix. He has an average finish of 7.7 at the track and a series-best driver rating of 114.0 there. Johnson will start 20th on Sunday.
Logano qualified second for this race. He joins the other two favorites as the lone winners this year. Logano has competed at Phoenix 12 times in his career and he has yet to win. He has two top 5s and an average finish of 15.1 at the track. His driver rating in Phoenix is 85.5.
