2014-hamlin01-360

DAYTONA BEACH, FL (TheSpread) – No driver enters the Daytona 500 with more momentum than Denny Hamlin. Will that momentum lead to his first Daytona 500 win?

View Current Daytona 500 Odds

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Hamlin. is one of six drivers that are all favored to win Sunday’s race, as he has 10/1 odds to finish first. Hamlin has never won the Daytona 500 and is winless in Sprint Cup races at this track.

Despite the lack of wins, Hamlin has been the man at Daytona this week. He prevailed as the winner in last week’s Sprint Unlimited exhibition race and then followed that up with a win in the Budweiser Duel last Thursday. He will start from the fourth position today.

Hamlin has competed in the Daytona 500 eight time and has just one top 5. His best finish was fourth in 2012, but he has finished outside the top 15 in six of his eight appearances. His average finish at this track is just 21.5, and his driver rating here is 83.7, which ranks ninth amongst current drivers.
