Daytona 500 Finishing Position Odds

DAYTONA BEACH, FL (TheSpread) – There are plenty of contenders to win the Daytona 500 on Sunday. Here is a look at the over/under odds for finishing position for some of the top contenders.

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, most of the top drivers have been given an over/under of 12.5 for finishing position. Matt Kenseth actually comes in with the lowest odds at 10.5 while Danica Patrick is the highest odds listed at 22.5.

Kenseth has had some pretty good results at Daytona. He is a two-time winner and the defending champion. He has placed in the top 10 in five of his 13 appearances. Kenseth will start 12^th on Sunday, which is the fifth-best starting position he has had in this race.

Kevin Harvick is listed as the current favorite to win the race, yet his over/under for finish has been set at 12.5. Harvick won this race back in 2007 and he won the Sprint Unlimited last weekend and his Budweiser Duel race on Thursday. He has finished 12^th or better in six of his 11 Daytona 500 appearances. He will start third on Sunday, which is the second-best starting spot he has had in this race.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. is another driver with a 12.5 over/under. Dale Jr. is a former winner of the Daytona 500, winning in 2004. He has placed in the top 12 of this race in seven of his 13 appearances. Earnhardt Jr. is actually starting 19^th on Sunday, which is the worst starting position he has had in this race.
