Junior Wins Bud Shoot Out
In what can only be called a Cinderella story Dale Earnhardt Jr. dominated and won the 2008 NASCAR Sprint Cup Budweiser Shoot Out.
Saturday night’s 30th Bud Shoot Out Dale Jr. fans and all of NASCAR were treated to a great race capped off by Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s first trip to victory lane with his new team and new car from Hendrick Motorsports.
23 drivers started the Bud Shoot Out and in the end there was only one car, the 88 National Guard/Amp Chevrolet that everyone else was chasing.
Earnhardt Jr. made his way to the front of the pack early and stayed there through much of the race. Tony Stewart also driving a new car this season made it a race for Earnhardt Jr. but after the final re-start with 3 laps to go Earnhardt Jr. was able to get around Stewart on the outside with some help from his new Hendrick Motorsports teammates Jimmie Johnson and Casey Mears. Stewart lost momentum and was all she wrote for everyone but Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Bettors are also not doubt thrilled with Earnhart Jr.’s victory in the Bud Shoot Out. Dale Earnhardt Jr. was one of our free NASCAR Bud Shoot Out picks before tonights exhibition race. We gave you Earnhardt Jr. at 7/2 odds (according to online sports book BodogLife.com) but some bettors were lucky to pick up Dale Jr. at +650. Our other picks for the Shoot Out; Tony Stewart (6/1), Jimmie Johnson (11/2) and Kasey Kahne finished second, fourth and tenth respectively.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s victory will no doubt make him one of the favorites to win the 50th Daytona 500 when the NASCAR Betting Odds adjust tomorrow morning. Prior to today’s race Earnhardt Jr. was listed at 5/1 odds to win next week’s Daytona 500 according to BodogLife.com oddsmakers.
