SAN DIEGO (AP) – The Detroit Tigers have obtained pitcher Alfredo Simon from the Cincinnati Reds for a pair of young players.
Cincinnati got right-hander Johnathon Crawford and infielder Eugenio Suarez as part of the deal, announced Thursday on the last day of baseball’s winter meetings.
Simon, a 33-year-old right-hander, was 15-10 with a 3.44 ERA last season.
Crawford, 23, was a first-round draft pick in 2013 and went 8-3 with a 2.85 ERA this year at Class A West Michigan.
The 22-year-old Suarez hit .242 with four homers and 85 RBIs for Detroit last season.
