MILWAUKEE (AP) -Mike Cameron will be a Milwaukee Brewer again next season.
The Brewers exercised a 2009 option for the center fielder before Monday’s deadline.
The club will pay Cameron $10 million next season after signing him as a free agent last winter for $5 million and $1.2 million signing bonus, plus the option year, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
The 35-year-old Cameron batted .243 with 25 home runs, 70 RBIs and 17 stolen bases in 120 games during his first season with the Brewers. He made 119 starts, all in center field, and committed only one error.
His salary was prorated last season because he sat out the first 25 days while on suspension for using a banned stimulant the previous season.
