BOSTON (AP) - Boston's World Series celebration is over. Now the Red Sox must look ahead to the offseason.
The most important of their potential free agents is center fielder Jacoby Ellsbury. He had a strong season and likely could get a better offer elsewhere. The Red Sox are leery of giving long-term contracts, and Ellsbury's agent, Scott Boras, is expected to seek a nine-figure deal.
General manager Ben Cherington and other team officials also must decide what to offer first baseman Mike Napoli, catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia and shortstop Stephen Drew. All three were key contributors to the championship and are eligible for free agency.
On Saturday, the Red Sox held a ''rolling rally'' in amphibious vehicles that made the trip from Fenway Park and into the Charles River before returning to Fenway.
