BOSTON (AP) - John Farrell failed in his last managerial job. The Boston Red Sox had their worst record in nearly a half century.
After a dismal 2012 season for both, they're together now and that past seems so far away. Farrell has led the Red Sox to Game 6 of the World Series with a chance to clinch it on Wednesday night against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Farrell says he tries to live out what his team has lived out this year and that's not to look back.
He had a 73-89 record last year in his second and final season as manager of the Toronto Blue Jays. Boston was even worse with a 69-93 mark.
But this year the Red Sox tied the Cardinals for the majors' best record at 97-65.
