PITTSBURGH (AP) -Three former Pittsburgh Pirates coaches have found jobs with different organizations.
The coaches weren't formally fired when manager Jim Tracy was let go Oct. 5 following two seasons, but were encouraged to seek jobs with other clubs. The coaches were under contract through Oct. 31.
Third-base coach Jeff Cox has taken the same job on Chicago White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen's staff. Former Pirates bullpen coach Bobby Cuellar will manage the Minnesota Twins' Class AA New Britain Rock Cats farm club, even though he has not managed in 20 years.
Rusty Kuntz, who split the season as a coach between Pittsburgh and Triple-A Indianapolis, was hired as new Kansas City Royals manager Trey Hillman's first-base coach. Kuntz once was former Pirates manager Lloyd McClendon's first-base coach.
Pirates pitching coach Jim Colborn had been rumored to be a candidate for the same job with the Seattle Mariners, but former Yankees pitching coach Mel Stottlemyre was hired instead.
