ST. LOUIS (AP) – Pitcher Joe Kelly says the St. Louis Cardinals feel extremely comfortable playing at home, and it shows in their record.
Kelly is set to start Game 3 of the World Series against the Boston Red Sox on Saturday night at Busch Stadium. The teams are tied at 1.
The Cardinals went 54-27 at home during the regular season. They are 5-1 at Busch in the playoffs.
The Red Sox traveled to St. Louis on Friday, leaving Fenway Park behind and arriving in the town known for the Gateway Arch and toasted ravioli.
Jake Peavy starts Game 3 for Boston and David Ortiz is expected to play first base. Ortiz homered in each of the first two games as the designated hitter. The DH isn’t used in National League parks.
