CHICAGO (AP) - The Chicago Cubs have claimed infielder Mat Gamel off waivers from the Milwaukee Brewers.
The 28-year-old Gamel missed this season because of a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. He batted .229 with six home runs and 29 RBIs over parts of five seasons with the Brewers from 2008 to 2012.
The Cubs announced the move on Thursday.
