SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -The San Diego Padres called up outfielder Drew Macias and switch-hitting infielder Chase Headley from Double-A San Antonio on Tuesday.
Both players joined the team, along with Jason Lane a day after the outfielder was acquired in a trade with the Houston Astros for a player to be named or cash.
The added depth could help after the Padres lost center fielder Mike Cameron and left fielder Milton Bradley to injuries Monday. Cameron will be out at least for the rest of the regular season, while Bradley will need knee surgery.
