PHILADELPHIA (AP) -The Philadelphia Phillies activated Geoff Jenkins from the 15-day disabled list Wednesday and placed Andy Tracy on the DL with a broken hand that will cost him the rest of the season.
Jenkins was out for 2 1/2 weeks with a strained right hip flexor. The 34-year-old is hitting .246 with nine homers and 29 RBIs in 108 games. He was signed by Philadelphia in the offseason and was platooning with Jayson Werth in right field.
Tracy, a utility infielder with only two at-bats this season, was hit on the left hand by a line drive during batting practice.
