ATLANTA (AP) -The Philadelphia Phillies claimed catcher Pete LaForest off waivers from San Diego and recalled right-handers Geoff Geary and John Ennis from Triple-A Ottawa on Tuesday.
LaForest played in 10 games for the Padres this year, hitting .360 with one homer and three RBIs.
Geary went 1-2 with a 5.01 ERA and three blown saves in 44 games during his first two stints with Philadelphia.
Ennis earned his second career save, and first since 2004 with Detroit, by pitching the final three innings of the Phillies’ Aug. 26 win over San Diego.
