DETROIT (AP) -Right-hander Chris Lambert was recalled from Triple-A Toledo by the Detroit Tigers and was scheduled to start Tuesday night’s game against the Los Angeles Angels.
Detroit also recalled left-hander Clay Rapada from Toledo and purchased the contracts of catcher Dusty Ryan and infielder Mike Hessman from its top farm team. The Tigers transferred right-handed pitcher Jeremy Bonderman and catcher Vance Wilson from the 15- to the 60-day disabled list.
Lambert made his major league debut Aug. 26 against Cleveland. He allowed six runs – two earned – and five hits in 2 2-3 innings, taking the loss in the Tigers’ 10-4 defeat.
Hessman hit .271 at Toledo with 34 homers and 72 RBIs in 108 games. He also was a member of the bronze medal-winning U.S. team at the Beijing Olympics.
