NEW YORK (AP) -Yankees first baseman Andy Phillips left New York's game against Tampa Bay on Sunday after he had a rough fifth inning.
Phillips was hit on the right arm by a pitch from Devil Rays starter Jason Hammel with one out. He shook his arm as manager Joe Torre and a trainer came out to check on him but opted to stay in. He then scored on Melky Cabrera's double to left, sneaking his hand under catcher Dioner Navarro to reach the plate ahead of the relay throw.
Wilson Betemit replaced Phillips at first in the sixth.
