CHICAGO (AP) -The Chicago Cubs recalled left-hander Will Ohman, infielders Ronny Cedeno and Eric Patterson, and catcher Geovany Soto from Triple-A Iowa on Saturday. The team also recalled right-hander Sean Gallagher from Double-A Tennessee.
Ohman went 1-4 with a 5.06 ERA and a save in 47 relief appearances for the Cubs to start the season before being optioned to Iowa on Aug. 7.
Gallagher will be in his fourth stint with the major league club and be used in long relief. He has a 7.82 ERA with one save in seven relief outings for the Cubs and made his major league debut June 9.
Cedeno, the Cubs’ opening day shortstop in 2006, will be in his third stint with the team. He has batted .188 in 27 games.
Patterson appeared in five games with the Cubs in August.
Soto, the MVP of the Pacific Coast League after hitting 26 homers and driving in 109 runs with a .353 batting average, played two games for the Cubs in July.
