 BOSTON (AP) -Red Sox pitcher Tim Wakefield was scratched Friday from his scheduled start against the Baltimore Orioles with a sore lower back.
Wakefield, tied for the major league lead in wins with a 16-10 record, was replaced by Julian Tavarez (7-9).
