ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) – Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia has been shaken up and removed from Boston’s game at Tampa Bay.
Pedroia was hurt in the second inning of Saturday night’s game after a sliding Logan Forsythe made contact with him while advancing on a fly ball. It appeared Forsythe may have hit Pedroia in the head with his arm.
After laying facedown near second base, Pedroia was examined by the team training staff before walking off the field.
No additional details were immediately available about Pedroia’s injury.
