BALTIMORE (AP) -The Chicago White Sox activated All-Star Joe Crede from the disabled list Monday, and Crede took over at third base for the completion of a suspended April 28 game against the Baltimore Orioles.
Crede was recalled from a rehabilitation assignment with Triple-A Charlotte, where he was 2-for-16 in five games. He was placed on the 15-day disabled list July 25, retroactive to July 22, with back inflammation.
In 90 games with Chicago, Crede is hitting .255 with 17 home runs and 54 RBIs.
To create a roster spot, the White Sox placed outfielder DeWayne Wise on the 15-day DL with a strained left groin. Wise batted .288 with two homers and seven RBIs in 35 games.
