HOUSTON (AP) -Pittsburgh Pirates shortstop Jack Wilson had to leave the game against the Houston Astros on Saturday night after being injured in the seventh inning.
Astros third baseman Ty Wigginton slid hard into Wilson as he was attempting a double play on a grounder by Luke Scott. Wilson laid flat on his stomach for several minutes.
He had to be helped off the field by two trainers and did not return. He was replaced by Cesar Izturis.
Wilson is hitting .273 with seven homers and 40 RBIs.
