KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -The Cleveland Indians recalled left-hander Aaron Laffey from Triple-A Buffalo after their 2-1 loss to the Kansas City Royals on Friday night.
Laffey will start on Saturday for the Indians, who optioned rookie right-hander Edward Mujica to their top farm club to make room on the roster.
Laffey was the International League Pitcher of the Week, going 2-0 with a 1.93 ERA in his past two starts. He is 9-3 with a 3.08 ERA this season for the Bisons.
Laffey went 1-1 with a 5.73 ERA in two starts for Cleveland earlier this month, but was optioned Aug. 9 to Buffalo because the Indians didn’t need a fifth starter at the time because of off days.
