CHICAGO (AP) -The Kansas City Royals placed left-hander Odalis Perez on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday with a left knee sprain and recalled outfielder Shane Costa from Triple-A Omaha.
Perez is 8-11 with a 5.57 ERA. He is expected to miss at least three weeks, manager Buddy Bell said.
Costa is making his third appearance with the Royals this season. He was hitting .185 (12-for-65) with seven RBIs in 33 games for Kansas City.
