CINCINNATI (AP) -The Cincinnati Reds recalled pitcher Kirk Saarloos and optioned pitcher Phil Dumatrait to Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday.
Dumatrait, who started Monday night's 14-4 loss to Atlanta, was 0-2 with a 14.18 ERA in four starts for the Reds.
Saarloos has already had two stints with the Reds this season. The right-hander is 1-4 with an 8.19 ERA in 29 games, including two as a starter, for the Reds.
The club also announced that pitcher Victor Santos, designated for assignment on Saturday, cleared waivers and was outrighted to Louisville.
