ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) -Kyle Lobstein, a high school left-hander selected by Tampa Bay in the second round of the baseball draft, agreed Friday to a minor league contract that includes a $1.5 million signing bonus.
Lobstein, who was considering a scholarship to the University of Arizona following a standout career at Coconino High in Flagstaff, Ariz., was the first pick of the second round – No. 47 overall.
The No. 1 pick in the draft, high school shortstop Tim Beckham, agreed in June to a minor league deal with the Rays for a $6.15 million signing bonus.
