CINCINNATI (AP) -The Reds got minor league catcher Wilkin Castillo from Arizona on Thursday as part of the trade for outfielder Adam Dunn.
The Diamondbacks acquired Dunn on Monday for right-hander Dallas Black and two players to be named. The 24-year-old Castillo is the first of those two.
Castillo has batted .283 in six minor league seasons. He played in 104 games at Triple-A Tucson this season, batting .254 with six homers and 47 RBIs. He also has played second base, third base, shortstop and outfield in the minors.
He was assigned to the Reds’ Triple-A team in Louisville.
