ATLANTA (AP) -The Atlanta Braves activated left-hander Tom Glavine from the disabled list to start Thursday night’s game against the Chicago Cubs.
Glavine, returning from a strained left elbow, is scheduled to make his first start since June 10. He is 2-3 with a 3.85 ERA.
To make room for Glavine, Atlanta optioned rookie left-hander Francisley Bueno to Triple-A Richmond.
Bueno made his major league debut in the first game of a doubleheader Wednesday. He was charged with two runs and five hits over 2 1-3 innings in Atlanta’s 10-2 loss to the Cubs, and was ejected after throwing a pitch behind Alfonso Soriano’s head.
