DETROIT (AP) -Tigers reliever Joel Zumaya has been put back on the 15-day disabled list because of a sore right shoulder.
Detroit manager Jim Leyland has said he thought Zumaya (0-2) might be injured. Zumaya, activated June 20 following shoulder surgery, gave up two runs, two hits and three walks in Tuesday’s loss to the Toronto Blue Jays.
The team purchased the contract of right-hander Francis Beltran from Triple-A Toledo to fill Zumaya’s roster spot. Beltran is 2-5 with a 4.81 ERA in 36 outings with Toledo.
