 ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -The Tampa Bay Devil Rays granted left-hander Casey Fossum his unconditional release on Friday.
Fossum was designated for assignment on Tuesday. With his release, he is now free to sign with any major league organization.
Fossum was 5-8 with a 7.70 ERA in 40 appearances for the Devil Rays this season.
He is 37-52 with a 5.46 ERA in seven major league seasons, having pitched for Boston, Arizona and Tampa Bay.
