ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -The Texas Rangers placed infielder-outfielder Jerry Hairston on the 15-day disabled list on Wednesday night because of a sore back.
The Rangers don't plan on adding a player to take Hairston's roster spot until Friday.
Hairston has started at five different positions this season. He is batting .195 in 65 games with three homers and 13 RBIs.
It was the second trip to the DL this season for Hairston. He was out from May 19 to June 5 because of a pinched nerve in his neck.
