SARTELL, Minn. (AP) -A pitcher for the St. Cloud River Bats died Wednesday, two days after he was injured while swimming.
Richard Gargel, 19, of Brigantine, N.J., was found early Monday under water in a residential pool. He died at 2:05 p.m. Wednesday at St. Cloud Hospital, a hospital spokeswoman said.
The cause of death hasn’t been determined and an autopsy will be performed by the Ramsey County medical examiner.
Gargel joined the Northwoods League team two weeks ago as a midseason addition from Temple University.
