ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -Texas shortstop Michael Young and manager Ron Washington were ejected in the 11th inning of Monday night’s game against the Oakland Athletics.
Oakland reliever Andrew Brown struck out Young looking leading off the inning. Young yelled something as he stopped to argue with plate umpire Bill Miller.
Miller immediately threw Young out of the game, and Washington came charging out of the dugout. Miller then quickly booted Washington, who stayed on the field for a few minutes to argue his case.
Young had tied the game at 7 in the ninth with a home run as the Rangers rallied from a 7-0 deficit.
It was the first ejection of the season for Young and Washington.
