NEW YORK (AP) -The New York Yankees optioned Sean Henn to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Saturday and designated Colter Bean for assignment.
New York also reinstated Phil Hughes from the 60-day disabled list to start against the Kansas City Royals.
Henn was 2-0 with a 4.26 ERA in 21 games for New York. Bean hadn't pitched for the Yankees since May 4.
The 21-year-old Hughes last pitched for the Yankees at Texas on May 1, when he had a no-hitter after 6 1-3 innings but was forced to leave due to a pulled left hamstring. His recovery was sidetracked when he injured his left ankle.
