KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -Kansas City Royals second baseman Mark Grudzielanek had to be helped off the field Friday night after colliding with first baseman Ross Gload in the ninth inning against the Chicago White Sox.
Grudzielanek made the catch on Juan Uribe’s popup down the line, but went down hard after running into Gload.
Gruzielanek’s right knee appeared to buckle in the collision and he writhed in pain as a Royals trainer ran out to help him. He stayed on the field for over a minute before limping off with the help of the trainer.
