NEW YORK (AP) -Outfielder Darin Erstad was activated from the 15-day disabled list by the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday before their game against the New York Yankees.
Erstad went on the DL on June 23 with a sprained left ankle. He batted .128 (6-for-47) in a 12-game rehab stint with Triple-A Charlotte.
Erstad is hitting .264 with two homers and 21 RBIs in 48 games with the White Sox this season.
He takes the roster spot of Rob Mackowiak, traded to San Diego on Tuesday for a minor leaguer.
