ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) -Carl Crawford, who scored the tying run as a pinch runner in the ninth inning, led off the bottom of the 11th with a homer to give Tampa Bay a 5-4 victory over Toronto on Monday night.
Crawford, who was out of the starting lineup for three games with a sprained right wrist, hit a 3-2 pitch from Brian Wolfe (2-1) over the fence in center field for Tampa Bay, which had lost eight of nine.
The All-Star outfielder tied the game at 4 on pinch-hitter Josh Wilson's two-out RBI single off Jeremy Accardo, who was charged with his fourth blown save of the season.
Scott Dohmannn (1-0) worked out of a bases loaded, one-out jam in the 11th for the win.
Jonny Gomes and B.J. Upton homered for the Devil Rays. Tampa Bay rookie Andy Sonnanstine gave up four runs and six hits in 6 2-3 innings. He is winless in his last nine starts, including seven losses.
Twins 3, Royals 1
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Scott Baker allowed two hits over eight innings and Joe Mauer drove in all the runs for Minnesota.
Baker (5-4) faced one batter over the minimum and struck out seven. Joe Nathan pitched a perfect ninth for his 23rd save in 25 opportunities.
Gil Meche (7-8) allowed two runs over seven innings and had his four-game winning streak ended.
Mauer drove in two runs with a double in the first inning and he made it 3-1 in the eighth with an RBI single.
David DeJesus led off the fourth with a double for Kansas City and scored on Mark Grudzielanek's single.
