ATLANTA (AP) – All-Star left fielder Carlos Gonzalez was back in the lineup for the Colorado Rockies on Monday night after missing the last three games with a sprained right middle finger.
Gonzalez aggravated the finger last Thursday at Miami and left the game. He was originally injured July 7 while batting at Arizona.
Both times he hurt his finger while striking out.
Gonzalez is batting .298 with 26 homers, second-most in the NL, and 67 RBIs, third-most.
The Rockies announced before Monday’s game against the Atlanta Braves that they have recalled infielder Charlie Culberson from Triple-A Colorado Springs and optioned infielder Jordan Pacheco.
Culberson hit .310 with 14 homers and 64 RBIs in 97 games at Colorado Springs.
