PHILADELPHIA (AP) -Mike Hampton was activated from the disabled list and made his first start for the Atlanta Braves in nearly three years on Saturday.
Pitcher Charlie Morton was sent to Triple-A Richmond to make room for Hampton, who hadn’t pitched in the major leagues since Aug. 19, 2005. The two-time All-Star left-hander faced the Philadelphia Phillies in his first outing since having two major surgeries on his left elbow in the last three years.
Morton was 2-3 with a 6.00 ERA in seven starts.
