SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -Chicago Cubs pitcher Wade Miller will start for the Double-A Tennessee Smokies on Wednesday as part of his recovery from shoulder surgery.
Miller, 30, went 0-1 with a 10.94 ERA in three starts this season with the Cubs.
He made a start with the Smokies of the Southern League in May, allowing three runs and seven hits in 5 2-3 innings. Miller also pitched three innings with the Triple-A Iowa Cubs on June 20. He gave up one hit and struck out five in that outing.
