DENVER (AP) -The Colorado Rockies designated left-hander Mark Redman for assignment Friday and recalled right-hander Juan Morillo from Triple-A Colorado Springs.
Redman appeared in 10 games with the Rockies this year, nine of them as a starter, and was 2-5 with a 7.54 ERA. He began the season in the Rockies’ rotation before being sent to Triple-A Colorado Springs on May 11.
He was recalled on July 3 and started three games. In his last start, against the New York Mets on July 11, Redman gave up five earned runs on eight hits in 3 1-3 innings.
Morillo has appeared five major league games, four last September for Colorado. He had a 9.82 ERA in 3 2-3 innings and didn’t record a decision.
In 36 games for Colorado Springs this season, Morillo had no record and struck out 41 in 39 2-3 innings.
