SAN DIEGO (AP) -New York Mets right-hander Jorge Sosa was activated from the 15-day disabled list on Monday night and started against the San Diego Padres.
Sosa, 7-3 with a 3.92 ERA, was out since July 1 with a strained left hamstring.
To make room on the roster, the Mets optioned right-hander Mike Pelfrey to Triple-A New Orleans.
