KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -The Chicago White Sox reinstated first baseman Paul Konerko from the disabled list on Tuesday and designated infielder Pablo Ozuna for assignment.
Konerko, 32, went onto the DL for the first time in his career with a strained oblique muscle. He was in the lineup against Kansas City Tuesday batting sixth.
In 62 games with the White Sox this year, he has hit .215 with eight home runs and 30 RBIs. With Triple-A Charlotte, he went 6-for-11 with two doubles, three RBIs and three runs scored in four games.
Ozuna, 34, hit .281 with six RBIs in 32 games this season.
