 SAN DIEGO (AP) -The Florida Marlins recalled outfielder Eric Reed from Triple-A Albuquerque on Thursday to take the roster spot of right-hander Josh Johnson.
Johnson went on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday night with stiffness in his right forearm. He was making just his fourth start after missing the first 2 1/2 months of the season while recovering from an irritated ulnar nerve in his pitching elbow.
Reed had been sent down to Triple-A in early May. The rookie hit .284 and stole 18 bases with the Isotopes.
