DETROIT (AP) -The Detroit Tigers bolstered their bullpen Sunday, acquiring right-hander Jose Capellan from the Milwaukee Brewers for minor league pitcher Chris Cody.
Capellan appeared in seven games this season for the Brewers, going 0-2 with a 4.50 ERA after being recalled from Triple-A Nashville on June 1.
``Capellan has a good arm and major league experience and we feel he will help us in our bullpen,'' Tigers general manager Dave Dombrowski said.
Cody was 5-5 with a 1.77 ERA in 14 starts with Single-A West Michigan this season, before allowing two runs in a loss during his only start with Single-A Lakeland. The left-hander is expected to be assigned to Single-A Brevard County.
