PHILADELPHIA (AP) -New York Mets starter Jorge Sosa was placed on the 15-day disabled list Sunday, and Mike Pelfrey was recalled from Triple-A New Orleans.
Pelfrey, 0-5 with a 6.53 ERA, started Sunday's game against Philadelphia in place of Oliver Perez, who was scratched because of a stiff back. Perez is scheduled to start Tuesday at Colorado.
Sosa left Saturday's game against the Phillies after straining his left hamstring running to first base in the sixth inning. Sosa is 7-3 with a 3.92 ERA.
